After my son's accident in 1984 and subsequent recovery time, I found it necessary to work through my stress and trauma. I had been working on children's stories for years and started a writer's critique group at the Walpole Town Library where I was working. In 1998 I began taking writing classes with poet Kate Gleason in Keene New Hampshire. Art became my focus once I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1999 with morning pages keeping the stream of consciousness writing flowing.

Tumbling around – words dried in my mind. I couldn’t get them to paper. Moisture removed… they crumbled into bits and pieces of alphabet. A lint trap full of potential if I could scrabble them back together.
