September Night -- Poetry 2011

Lovely moon - wonderful temperature -

a drum circle somewhere sends a steady

beat wafting on late summer night’s still air;

deer gracefully move through the woods

as Corgi dog tags jingle and crickets cricket.

Footfalls on asphalt follow the distant rhythm;

sweet scent of blackberries require early morning

gathering for addition to breakfast cereal…

tonight’s walk was a win. Way to go, life. Keep it up.
